Optical Fingerprint Sensor Module – How It Works

A finger placed on the glass prism is lit from inside, and an optical sensor captures the ridge pattern as an image. The module’s onboard processor converts that image into a template, stores it in internal memory, and later compares new scans against the stored templates, sending a simple match or no-match result back over UART. Because the matching runs on the module itself, the host microcontroller only has to send commands and read replies.

Wiring and Calibration Notes

Confirm the module’s operating voltage and output type before wiring it in, because a sensor expecting 3.3V logic connected to a 5V controller can be damaged, and an analog output read as digital gives nothing useful. The pin labels printed on the board are the reference that matters.

Allow a short warm-up and, where the module supports it, calibrate against a known reference before trusting readings. Keep the sensing element clean and out of direct contact with moisture unless the module is rated for it, since contamination on the sensor face is the usual reason readings drift over time.

التوصيل والمعايرة

تأكد من فولت تشغيل الموديول ونوع خرجه قبل التوصيل، لأن حساس متوقع منطق 3.3 فولت موصل بمتحكم 5 فولت ممكن يتضر، وخرج أنالوج مقروء كرقمي مش هيدي حاجة مفيدة. أسماء البنات المطبوعة على البورد هي المرجع اللي بيفرق.

سيبه يسخن فترة قصيرة، ولو الموديول بيدعم المعايرة عايره مقابل مرجع معروف قبل ما تثق في القراءات. خلي عنصر الاستشعار نضيف وبعيد عن التلامس المباشر مع الرطوبة غير لو الموديول مقنن لكده، لأن التلوث على وش الحساس السبب المعتاد لانحراف القراءات مع الوقت.

قارن المواصفات المكتوبة هنا مع المتطلب اللي عندك فعلاً، مش مع منتج شبهه استخدمته قبل كده، لأن النسخ القريبة من نفس القطعة كتير بتختلف في تفصيلة واحدة بتفرق. الفولت والمقاس ونوع الموصل والسعة المقننة هم الأربعة اللي غالبًا بيوقعوا الناس.
