MJ4032 transistor

The MJ4032 transistor is a PNP Darlington power transistor in a TO-3 package, rated 100V / 16A with very high current gain (hFE ~2000), complementary to the NPN MJ4035.

How It Works

The MJ4032 transistor is a monolithic PNP Darlington pair: two PNP transistor stages on one die where the first stage’s output feeds the second stage’s base, multiplying the overall current gain to roughly hFE 2000. This lets a very small base current control up to 16A of collector current at up to 100V, while dissipating up to 150W in its robust TO-3 metal package. As the PNP complement to the NPN MJ4035, it’s used in complementary amplifier and general-purpose output stages requiring high current gain with minimal drive.
