KH.M.A Flux Core Solder Wire – 0.8mm, 15g, 2% Flux

KH.M.A Flux Core Solder Wire – 0.8mm, 15g, 2% Flux

The KH.M.A Flux Core Solder Wire – 0.8mm, 15g, 2% Flux is a 0.8mm rosin-core solder wire made from 60/40 tin-lead alloy, supplied as a 15g spool for everyday electronics soldering work.

KH.M.A Flux Core Solder Wire – How It Works

Running down the center of the wire is a hollow rosin flux core that melts and flows out just ahead of the metal alloy as the wire touches a hot iron tip, cleaning oxidation off the joint’s metal surfaces and helping the molten solder wet and bond to them properly, a step that plain flux-free solder wire cannot do on its own. The 60/40 tin-lead ratio gives this wire a defined, relatively narrow melting range, letting it transition cleanly from solid to liquid and back rather than staying in a mushy, hard-to-control state for long, which is part of why leaded solder remains popular for hand-soldering despite lead-free alternatives being more common in mass manufacturing. At 0.8mm diameter, this wire suits typical through-hole component leads and general circuit board work, thin enough for controlled, precise solder application without needing to feed excessive solder into a small joint.

Key Features

• Diameter: 0.8mm
• Alloy: 60/40 tin-lead
• Rosin flux core
• Spool weight: 15g

Typical Applications

• General electronics soldering
• Through-hole component assembly
• Wire and connector joints

Specifications

• Diameter: 0.8mm
• Alloy: 60/40
• Flux: rosin core

Specifications are sourced from standard rosin-core tin-lead solder wire documentation. Because leaded solder alloys release fumes when heated, always solder in a well-ventilated area or with a fume extractor, and wash hands after handling. Feeding the wire from the far side of the joint rather than directly onto the iron’s tip also gives more control over exactly how much solder lands on the joint, helping avoid the excess blobs and bridged pins that come from over-feeding.
